JANUARY 18, 2008 Andy Warhol Foundation Announces Curatorial Research Fellowships
The Warhol Foundation is pleased to announce an expansion of its grantmaking activities to include Curatorial Research Fellowships. Beginning with the upcoming grant cycle, the foundation will accept proposals from institutionally-affiliated curators twice a year at its regular March 1st and September 1st deadlines.
Designed to respond to the dearth of time and resources available to curators developing in-depth exhibitions, Curatorial Research Fellowships amplify the foundation’s longstanding commitment to research leading to new scholarship in the field of contemporary art. Grants of up to $50,000 will support travel, archival research, convening of colleagues, interviews and time to write, among other activities.
Curators at any stage of their careers are eligible to apply. Research must be attached to a potential exhibition and curators must have the formal support of their institution’s director. Please note that grants to curators do not preclude separate proposals from sponsoring institutions in any given grant round.
A copy of the foundation’s grant guidelines can be found on the Warhol Foundation website. For all other questions, please contact the program department at (212) 387-7555.
