CultureSource Announces Recipients of 2021 Flourish Fund Grant

CultureSource is proud to announce the recipients of our Flourish Fund grant for the 2021 cycle. Six artists were awarded $10,000 to support collaborative projects that are experimental, shared with the public, and embrace contemporary creative possibilities for the future of arts and culture.

In the spirit of embracing contemporary culture at its core and edges, grants were made to artists at various stages of their careers working on multidisciplinary projects that center the visual arts. Annually, the Flourish Fund offers six grants of $10,000 each to support artists for these innovative, public-facing projects across the seven counties of Southeast Michigan.

The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts Expands Its Regional Regranting Program and Appoints Khadija Nia Adell as Regional Re-granting Program Manager

15 October 2020

“The terrific range of project proposals we receive each year speaks to the mobile and porous disciplinary boundaries of contemporary art practice, and to the rich and inventive ways writers approach art today. They are alert to the urgent need to expand the conventions of art history and criticism with ideas from other discourses, such as black studies, transnational and diaspora studies, gender and women’s studies, and LGBT studies. The work of lesser known and overlooked artists and art communities continues to be mined, with writers articulating new ways to counter the striking imbalances of race, class and gender that continue to affect the arts and the culture industry.”
