$60,000 in Grants Available Through The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts Regional Regranting Program
Tinworks Art is pleased to announce the Beyond the Mountains Fund, a new grant program for Montana-based visual artists as part of the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts’ Regional Regranting Program. The Fund will provide direct support for independent, public-facing projects that give artists the freedom to experiment, collaborate, and connect with communities across Montana in new ways.
Through an annual open call, the Beyond the Mountains Fund will award one $10,000 grant and ten $5,000 grants to artists pursuing projects that fall outside traditional funding structures. Supporting Indigenous, emerging, mid-career, and established artists exploring new directions, the program will strengthen Montana’s arts ecosystem, build community connections, and increase the visibility and impact of artists’ work. The Fund recognizes artists as essential contributors to the cultural life of Montana and the broader Mountain West.
The Beyond the Mountains Fund is part of The Andy Warhol Foundation’s Regional Regranting Program, which partners with organizations across the country to support artists and locally driven creative projects. Since its launch in 2007, the program has provided millions of dollars in direct funding to artists through locally administered grant programs that reflect the unique needs and creative communities of each region. Tinworks Art became a regional regranting partner in 2026, extending this support to artists throughout Montana.
“Artists across Montana are creating remarkable work that reflects the places they call home, the communities they are part of, and the experiences that shape our region,” said Jenny Moore, Director of Tinworks Art. “The Beyond the Mountains Fund allows us to support artists directly, and encourage new ideas. In partnership with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, we hope to strengthen Montana’s arts ecosystem, foster connection between artists and their communities, and celebrate artists as vital contributors to the cultural life of Montana and the greater Mountain West.”
“We are pleased to welcome Tinworks Art to the network of Regional Regranting Program partners,” says Khadija Nia Adell, Program Officer of the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts Regional Regranting Program, “For the past several years, Tinworks’ exhibitions and programs have been uplifting Montana artists who are expanding ideas of the American West. The Beyond the Mountains Fund will further support Montana-based artists working to connect with their communities in bold and innovative ways.”
The Beyond the Mountains Fund is designed to directly support artists who innovate and take risks in areas and practices that are often difficult to fund. By providing resources and visibility, the program recognizes the essential role artists play in a vibrant society.
