Charlotte Street Foundation in Kansas City, Missouri, offers grants, studio space, and exhibition opportunities to artists and curators. Charlotte Street Foundation was established in 1997 as a response to needs articulated by artists within the community for an organization that was a valuable creative, social, and economic resource for artists living in Kansas City. Over the twenty years since its founding, it has become a key player in the region, providing critical resources that support a thriving arts community. 


"Melt" was the last visual artist exhibition that occurred in our old la Esquina space (before we moved to the our new building). This summer exhibition is colorful, huge, and varied in personal experiences and commentaries on what it means to melt. I included two pics for you to choose from.

Mirror Me, Mirrored You This is one of my favorite mixed-media performances where the visual element was just as strong as the performance element. In most of her projects, Local KC artist Julia Vering (Unicorns in the Snow) works with and includes stories/performances from elders who are experiencing dementia. This show has a unique look, in my opinion. I included two pics for you to choose from here.

2019 Open Studios Two images come from our annual Open Studios event which takes place in downtown Kansas City. Every year, we open our doors to the public for free drinks and experiences with all 30 of our artists in our Studio Residency program. Attached are two images of people gathering around visual works that were the most appealing (including an old-timey grilled cheesery?) Note: Our 2020 Open Studios is delayed/possibly cancelled due to COVID-19, hence no pics from this year’s.
