Founded in 1973, Self Help Graphics in Los Angeles has aided in the production of new work by more than 900 artists, with over 2,000 editions and prints created on site enabling hundreds of Chicanx and BIPOC artists to contribute work to major museum collections and exhibitions around the country. Self Help plays an important role in advancing the careers of nationally recognized artists through its exhibition program, and also opens its doors to its immediate East Side community to allow local artists to explore the possibilities of printmaking through regular workshops, professional development opportunities, and public programming.
