Founded in 1999, Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA) explores contemporary art, architecture and design. Global in its focus, the Museum is a unique and vital cultural resource for the Southwest, serving local audiences as well as visitors from the United States and abroad. In the past several few years the museum has ensured that its exhibitions reflect the diversity of artists and approaches to contemporary issues facing Muslim, African American, and Indigenous communities. Its solo and group shows over the next two years reflect its commitment to showcasing underrepresented perspectives and practices.
