Supported by intergenerational mentorship, cross-sector collaboration, and local engagement, NXTHVN is a national arts model that empowers artist, curators, and community through education and access to vibrant ecosystem. NXTHVN accelerates the careers of the next generation of artists and fosters retention of professional art talent while helping catalyze New Haven into a world-class, sustainable arts community. NXTHVN is devoted to the two goals that shaped its founding: building an alternative model of art mentorship and career advising through a specially designed curriculum and simultaneously setting into motion significant opportunities for emerging local entrepreneurs. The organization’s unique approach includes both a fellowship program that combines support in administrative and theoretical aspects of the arts profession with individual mentorship as well as a paid high school apprenticeship program focused on one-on-one mutual learning giving the next local generation a chance to grow and excel in the field of fine arts.
