The Atlanta Center for Photography (ACP) advances new perspectives in lens-based media from the American South. Each year, ACP welcomes three lens-based artists with connections to the South to mount a solo exhibition of new and recent work. Artists are provided with mentorship, technical resources, and connections with partner organizations or affinity groups throughout the city. A concurrent Bookshelf Residency in the adjacent reading room invites cultural workers and artists to respond to the exhibition by curating a selection of books, reading materials, and ephemera. Through artwork commissions, community collaborations, and dynamic programs, ACP supports photography as an inclusive and transformational cultural force, positioning Atlanta at the forefront of contemporary lens-based practice and thought.

“The Warhol Foundation aims to support the full range of artistic activity in America—from exhibitions at major museums to neighborhood projects by artist collectives. Arts writers, through the range and specialization of their individual interests, touch upon all of this activity—illuminating and interrogating it and bringing it into conversation with the public. Support for artists is not complete without support for the circulation and serious consideration of their ideas. The Arts Writers Grant program keeps artists at the center of cultural dialogue and debate—in our opinion, right where they belong.”
