Since its founding in 1973, Centrum has operated as a residency program that welcomes artists, curators, arts workers, musicians, and writers from the Port Townsend area and beyond to engage with the site and the unique resources of the local community. The Emerging Artist Residency provides critical support to six Pacific Northwest artists early in their careers through stipends and meetings with visiting artists and curators, culminating with public open studios. Through inter-generational immersive workshops, Centrum brings together aspiring and master artists to ignite creativity, find and provide mentorship, and build community.

The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts Announces Spring 2025 Grant Recipients

9 July 2025

“It is an honor to be part of The Warhol Foundation’s mission to support the visual arts coupled with its commitment to specifically support the voices of women, POC, Native Americans, and LGBTQ. It is simply thrilling to be part of an organization where we get to see these values writ large and implement real change in real life ways in the visual arts community that still so needs to move forward in terms of social justice, equality, and diversity. We put our money where our mouth is. How many institutions actually do that?”
