The Double Exposures series of four two-person exhibitions taking place over the next year. Artist pairs feature duos who have self-selected and those who have been matched via review panel. With an interest in alien languages and life on exoplanets, artist Wendy Robles with be paired with interdisciplinary artist Allen Moore, who pursues themes of Afrofuturism in work that blends audio with visual forms. Anna Martine Whitehead and AJ McLenon will present collage and performance work inspired by dreams of other places. Colorful painted abstractions by Michael Cuadrado Gonzalez will be paired with nature-inspired works by Erin Laroque including tapestries made by self-weaving mushrooms. Artist collaborators Mika Honbuchi and Dan Rizzo Orr will present a new installation that brings stark abstraction to an imagined domestic space.
