Established in 1939, Hyde Park Art Center is a hub for contemporary arts in Chicago, serving as a gathering and production space for artists and the broader community to cultivate ideas, impact social change, and connect with new networks.

Exhibitions at the Art Center highlight artists at pivotal points in their careers, with an emphasis on supporting those who lack gallery representation, and/or are respected by other artists for their innovation and mentorship.

We acknowledge our culture’s systemic marginalization of artists because of race, gender, religion, age, ability, sexual orientation, and/or immigration status among other factors. We actively seek to highlight the work of under-represented practitioners and support efforts to address entrenched inequities.
