A series of artistic interventions investigating the house as a site, subject, and collaborator. SHED Projects is an artist-led organization that began in New Orleans and is now based in a historic home in Cleveland’s Brooklyn Centre neighborhood. For the next year it will present workshops, publications, outdoor installations, and events that consider domestic activities as they relate to the exchange of knowledge and creative expression. Participating artists include Jillian Backwell, Yasmeen Nematt Alla, Linda Dyken, and Cora Nimtz, among others. The organization will also produce Dust Atlas, a publication of critical writing responding to something found in every home: dust.
Intervantions Inside + Outside
“The Foundation’s commitment to supporting artists by funding the institutions that incubate, encourage, exhibit and critically engage their work is unwavering. Non-profit arts organizations face profound challenges due to the political, economic, social and cultural upheavals of our current moment. At the same time, and more than ever, artists need the supportive community and creative encouragement that these organizations provide.”
