Art from the Inside (AFTI) was founded as a way to foster transformation, healing, and forgiveness after a correctional officier was killed by an inmate at the Minnesota Correctional Facility-Stillwater. Working with the administration and the broader community outside the facility to bring in educational, cultural events proved to be successful for both officers and the incarcerated. Re/Form is an exhibition of commissioned work made by formerly incarcerated artists. Over the course of a year, artists will transform carceral documents into handmade paper to be used as material, surface and subject in the creation of new work.
