Founded by Puerto Rican and Latino artist-activists in 1974, Taller Puertorriqueño is a community based cultural organization whose primary purpose is to preserve, develop, and promote Puerto Rican arts and culture, grounded in the conviction that embracing one’s cultural heritage is empowering. Taller provides opportunities to creative communities that have been marginalized by dominant cultural institutions and works to make visible the cultural life of Latinx people.
