Organized jointly by the Columbus Museum in Georgia, and the Chrysler Museum of Art in Virginia, Alma W. Thomas: Everything is Beautiful offers the first comprehensive exploration of Thomas’s artistic journey and influence as an educator and painter. In addition to her highly regarded abstract paintings, the exhibition will present rarely seen theatrical designs, sculptures, watercolors, and handmade clothing, highlighting how Thomas used her artwork to construct and refine her identities as a woman, as an African-American, and as an artist.
